A traditional stone built house, completely renovated and modernised, in a village with local facilities and open countryside on the doorstep.
Casa Salazar is a 2 storey house in the village of Póvoa do Rio dos Moinhos which was renovated from top to bottom in 2022. There are restaurants, a local café and shop within the village, and at the edge of the village there is a rural tourism resort where you have a beautiful restaurant and holiday accommodation.
The renovation works were carried out to bring the house up to modern standards, whilst maintaining the external appearance of an attractive property, that is in keeping with its surroundings. Particular attention was paid to increasing insulation values and providing energy efficient solutions (high quality double glazing, heat pump based hot water system, pellet burning stove for heating) , whilst maintaining the character of the house.
Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, with underfloor heating and walk in showers. One bedroom has direct access to the walled garden and views towards the mountains in the distance. The open plan lounge/kitchen includes a programmable pellet stove, so you can automatically heat the house as desired. All services for the kitchen have been installed, so the purchaser can choose and install a kitchen to match their tastes and needs. A mixture of new and recovered wooden floors run throughout the house.
On the lower floor of the house you have a storage/utility area where services have been installed for a washing machine. There is also a large room with it´s own door to the exterior, which can be converted into an office, studio or guest bedroom.

The town of Alcains is 10 minutes drive away, and there you have an Intermarché supermarket, local shops, the health centre swimming pool (indoor and outdoor) and all local facilities. Castelo Branco (a large town) is less than 20 minutes drive from the house.
Mains services (water, drainage and electricity) are all connected, and fibre optic internet is available.
