In line with Protal, the PDM for the council of Loulé has now been revised.
There are a number of revisions, one of the most relevant for our market being the changes regarding construction outside or urban areas.
The maximum permitted size of construction is now 300m2, and only single storey construction is permitted (unless there is an existing building with 2 or more stories).
Razões ponderosas (the system whereby construction was allowed even though there was no ruin or urban development on a plot of land) has formally been abolished.
The consequences of this are positive, as the planning rules will be applied to everyone, uniformly.
